Ranulph and me.

I’ve been following the Ranulph Fiennes story ( love that man ) where his wife has put him in a home, seemingly against his will.
You might think this kinda stuff is rare, but it happened to me.
In November 2016, when I’d been in hospital for 4 months, my then wife informed the hospital that I was not welcome back to our ( new ) home, that the locks would be changed if I did try to return, and had found somewhere more suitable for me to live – a Care Home around a hundred miles away from London.

Thankfully, her actions were all illegal and I obviously challenged her wishes, at which point she backed down ( well she is a solicitor, so has to be careful not to do anything illegal, and be caught ).

Wives – watch out for the wrong uns.

Saturday

And me n da GG went to watch Brentford play against Sunderland yesterday.
Not being ( still ) that acquainted with football.. I wasn’t that aware that Sunderland was a premier league team !?
Well they are, if you didn’t know.

Anyway the lead changed hands regularly, but with goals being disallowed left, right and centre… it ended 1-1.
I always get a visitor or 3 at half time ( always a pleasure ) and yesterday Churchy and Clare came for a chat and a laugh.

Brentford march on. 2 wins and a draw so far
Good start on the road to eventual world domination.

What a play!

Gawd I saw a quite amazing play last night
The Oresteia … in the Bridge Theatre.
Wow, what a great production/ performance/ tale.
Over 3 hours and with TWO intervals.. you don’t get many of those around here, do you?!
It’s a story of a very messed up family ( think my own) but with far more people ending up deaded.

Me n my ickle chum Kerry were very impressed.
I get to hear about her tangled love life and there’s always wine too.
Earlier we’d been to an exhibition in Somerset House. Cool stuff, but blimey that place sells too many tickets to too many people… so it was very crowded.
In a chair, in a crowd, this is what my view of the art looks like..

Not the best, is it?

The set of the play was very impressive though.

It’s actually a bit cold now at night.
It’s 11 miles back on the road.. too far when the roads are full of potholes and I have to keep swerving to avoid them. Swerving is the kind of thing that could get me run over.. 🤦‍♂️

Bless GG for still, every night, helping me into bed to avoid aggravating my arm injury.
Last night she’d been out and had a couple of drinks before she helped me – hence her being fast asleep on my sofa.
She’s a superstar, even when a bit pissed 😅

Abigail

A belated thank you to Roy, Jezza and Sam for taking me out for a birthday celebration… top lads.

I saw Abigail’s Party last night ( not for the first time, I should say ) but for the first time with Leighton n Bev!
It’s a great play – funny/ nostalgic if you’re as old as me, and this production has a bit of pizzazz with Tamsin Outhwaite as Beverly ( the star lady ).

To wheel the 8 miles back in cool air is a welcome change. Suddenly everyone is wearing a coat ( though it’s 20 degrees ) – has everyone gone soft, or what?

I go slower these days. As my left arm still hurts, 2 months after my last crash, I’m not taking any more chances ( he says, after another 20 miles of busy road trips in a fast wheelchair )
Taking risks is all relative 😊
