Went to a panto last night – Jack and the Beanstalk in the Lyric, Hammersmith.

The Lyric is always a bit edgy.
The only white cast member was the evil one ( of course ). The Fairy was of course a very gay drag queen and the most ‘ senior man ‘ was a lady ( black and Jamaican ) with a moustache.

It all worked ok, but there was no Fee Fy Fo Fum and talk of eating Englishmen.

Maybe a bit too far variant from the proper version ( for me n GG ) but hey everyone enjoyed themselves.
GG refuses to join in with the ‘ he’s behind you/ oh yes it is ‘ malarkey, and also wouldn’t volunteer to go onstage.

I got bloody soaked both going and coming back.
Tis the season to be drenched.

And we ( K, Leighton, Bev n me ) saw Wet Leg in Kingston.
Wet Leg come from the Isle of Wight ( possibly the only sexy thing from there (?) ) and Wet Legs are apparently people who visit the Island.
Anyway, they were great !

And then the next day K and I went to the Old Vic to see A Christmas Carol – Scrooge does remind me of someone I’m related to, fair play. I don’t suppose in real life though they’ll change before it’s too late…

It’s December and I now get very wet and covered in bloody road grit every time I go out. Never mind… I’ve had worse.
