Lovely to see one of my oldest and bestest mates yesterday for the day – couldn’t really miss him as he’s a lot fatter than he was the last time I saw him; at the he is owning it and is going to do something about it, whether it’s drinking less wine or eating less lard.
Go on Charlie, you can do it.
Gawd I got soaked on Saturday night- I did attempt to get into town, in the lashing rain, and got as far as Kew Gardens tube station only to be told all the trains were cancelled. This country doesn’t do rain and wind very well, as we all know.
I had to go home- only about a mile ( at 20 mph ) but that involved going back through the lake of water that I’d only just been through the other way … that collects near Kew Green.
I realised that my waterproof clothing no longer was, so I’ve had to order new jacket and trousers.
The trouble is that I can’t just stand up and get changed- I’m a bit stuck in wet clothes and a drenched wheelchair ( the seat cushion and back rest are fabric ) until someone helps me – thank God for GG once again.
Oh and I’ve now set my TfL app to alert me if tube lines are down ( something I OBVIOUSLY should have done a long time ago but for some reason hadn’t )
I went to see Dan Jones talk about his Castles book the other day and also that funny German fella Hanning Wehn in Richmond theatre – amusing for sure.
After a never ending summer, it’s fair to say we all got used to nice weather- I sense it’s going to be an equally wet and unpleasant winter- really NOT great if you travel by wheelchair on the main roads.
