I was honoured to have been invited to the graduation ceremony of the amazing Jeanie McClaren this week, in the Royal Festival Hall on the South Bank.
Jeanie is like the daughter I don’t have, I must say. I’m very proud of her and how she is progressing through life.
She stepped in ( without any experience) to take the place of her mother, who was helping me on the weekends a few years ago, when her mum was ill, but was so good she took over the role.
Her and I have been friends ever since and I think the world of her.
I’ve not been to a graduation since my own in 1987.
